Privacy
Short, because there isn't much to say: this site keeps almost nothing, and Haven itself sends nothing unless someone switches a part on.
This website
- No cookies, no tracking, no analytics. Nothing is loaded from other companies: the font and the videos are hosted here.
- "Try Haven" runs in your own browser. What you choose there stays in your browser tab and is forgotten when you close it. Nothing is sent to us.
- "What would help you?" stores your answers, the day you answered (not the time), and, only if you ticked "talk more" or "tell me when ready", the way to reach you that you typed. No IP address, no location, no name unless you put one in that box. You get an answer number at the end: send it to [email protected] at any time and your answers are deleted.
- Email to [email protected] is forwarded to our mailbox. We keep it as long as a conversation needs.
- Hosting: the site and the questionnaire's answers are hosted by Cloudflare, a company in the United States. The results are locked to Haven's owner.
Haven itself
- By default, nothing about the person leaves the computer. No account, no telemetry, no crash reports. Haven's helper (the local AI) runs on the computer itself.
- Parts that reach the internet, only when switched on and explained first: Messages (a Delta Chat account on a public chatmail relay, used only with people you invite), "Tell my person" alerts (a message to a helper's phone through ntfy, sent only when the person presses the button), games and apps (downloaded from Flathub when a carer adds one), websites the person opens, and updates (downloaded only when a carer chooses).
- At install: Haven downloads its parts from their makers (the browser, the voice, the picture-board software). The addresses and checksums are listed in the source.
- Calm visits are never recorded, and nobody sees how the person said they feel unless they choose to share it.
